2019 Journey to South Africa

In October 2019, Harambee International Development led a Cultural Immersion team of twenty-two to provide educational and ministry support to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban South Africa area.  The team gave financial support to a church building project and visited a bible study at Life Centre Bible Church and a medical clinic in the Johannesburg area.  The team learned about the history of Johannesburg and visited a local game reserve to view African wildlife. The team visited Soweto District to view the Apartheid Museum.  In Cape Town the team performed street witnessing and led a number of people to Christ.  The team visited Table Mountain and Robben Island (prison where President Nelson Mandela was held with other political prisoners. The team toured local Cape Town historical districts and visited the City of Durban and enjoyed visiting the shopping district.  The team took a tour to the Zulu Cultural Center to learn history and customs of the Zulu tribe.  The team visited a Durban Church and taught a leadership training class.
